Project Buggy Buddy
The Summers County Public Library is in the business of providing information, serving the public, and solving problems. We are also experts at loaning materials to the people in our community. With that in mind, we are happy to announce Project Buggy Buddy.
The lack of transportation is a huge issue in Summers County. Many folks are forced to walk to and from the local stores. As if grocery shopping is not difficult enough, shoppers then must transport their groceries home by carrying heavy bags or borrowing the stores’ cart and pushing it all the way home. If you live in West End and are shopping at Kroger or Save A Lot, that is a very long walk.
We are now planning fundraisers and accepting donations to purchase a small fleet of collapsible folding wagons. These wagons are lighter, have better wheels, and are more suited for the journey up and down the hill from Avis. We would like to purchase a minimum of 10 wagons to be checked out to our patrons as needed.
Wagons range from $60 to $100 each. Our initial goal is to raise $1,200 to implement this program. Donations can be made in person or mailed to the library at 201 Temple Street in Hinton. You can also donate via PayPal right on our webpage. Please leave us a memo that your donation is for the Buggy Fund.
